When Gallbladders Attack

It's almost here!! Four more days until Rocky Raccoon 50M! To say I'm excited is an understatement.  :-)

After months of stomach issues, medical tests and failed training runs I have have the answer I've been searching for.  A non-functioning gallbladder.  The upper endosocopy in December showed gastritis, GERD and hiatal hernia and now there is the gallbladder problem.  I'm thinking it's all gotta be related and some brief internet research seems to say it's possible.

My GI doctor is recommending surgery to remove my gallbladder but I'm not quite there yet.  Going to do some research and get a second opinion first.

And cross my fingers that my gallbladder doesn't decide to attack in the middle of RR on Saturday!

To all my fellow 'Cooners, see ya in Huntsville!!

  2. I've read so much about this race. Maybe one day I'll be fortunate enough to travel your way and run it. All the best!

  3. I heard of folks who tweaked their diets enough to stay off surgery. I also heard of those who had it done and recovered within a couple of weeks total and were back better than ever. Your choice. Best!
