In preparation for next months Grand Canyon R2R run, the trail group headed out to the Wichita Mountains again for some laps up and down Mt. Scott. For any Oklahoma runners looking for some fun hill training, this is your place. Just get there early to beat the car/motorcycle traffic going up & down the mountain. We started running at 6:30 am and ran for about 1.5 hours before they opened the gates to cars. We ran for another 1.5 hours after that, but the traffic was really light until the last 20 minutes or so and then started picking up. It was a gorgeous day! We finished up with a soul cleansing 6 mile run/hike on Dog Run Hollow trail. The wildflowers were out in full force and it was another gorgeous day. Not quite ready for Grand Canyon..but ready as I'll ever be I suppose!
I can't wait to read about your Grand Canyon R2R run. You are so ambitious! It sounds like your training run was perfect. Nothing like running up and down a mountain! Again, great pictures!ReplyDelete
